If you want to register your child for the remainder of this school year (2009-2010)
If your child is new to the District, and you would like to enroll your child at any of our elementary schools for the 2009-2010 school year, you will register your child at your school of residence. If you are unsure which is your school of residence, please contact 626-441-5810 X1120 and ask to verify your address and the corresponding elementary school/school of residence.

- April 13 and 14, 2010/Sibling Registration ONLY: This is for incoming siblings of currently SPUSD enrolled students in grades K-4 for the 2009-2010 year. You must bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency to your elementary school site. These packets will be available as of April 12, 2010 at each elementary site. Registration hours are 9am - 12pm and 1pm - 3pm. Registration takes place at each elementary school.
- April 21 and 22, 2010/New Family Registration ONLY:
You may only register your child(ren) if you are already residing in South Pasadena. You must bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency
to your elementary school site. These packets will be available as of
April 12, 2010 at each elementary site. Registration takes place at each elementary school, NOT at the District Office. Registration hours are 9am -
12pm and 1pm - 3pm. (If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address).
- May 7, 2010 3:00 pm Lottery for New Family Registration, at SPUSD Office, 1020 El Centro St, S. Pasadena, in the Boardroom. This lottery is open to the public. Three lotteries will take place, one for each school, by grade level, with all the names of students registered during NEW FAMILY REGISTRATION from April 21 & 22, 2010. Lottery results will be posted at each elementary school by 2:00 pm on Monday May 10, 2010.
- April 23 - June 25, 2010: Bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency to your elementary school site. These packets will be available as of April 12, 2010, at each elementary site. Registration takes place at each elementary school. (If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address).
- July 1 - August 9, 2010 : As the elementary schools are closed in the summer, registration for new students takes place at the District Office (Room 4). The District Office is located at 1020 El Centro St., South Pasadena. Your first opportunity to register will be Monday August 9, 2010 and Tuesday August 10, from 9 am - 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm. Registration will take place at the District Office, Room 4.
- After August 9 & 10, 2010, the next opportunity to register new incoming students K-5 will be Monday August 16, 2010 from 9 am - 12 pm ONLY. Registration will
take place at the District Office, Room 4.
- Monday August 23 - Friday August 27, 2010, new student registration will take place at each elementary school site, and NOT at the district office, between 9 am - 12 pm and from 1 pm to 4 pm.
- From Monday August 30, 2010 - through Friday September 3, 2010, new incoming students K-5 will be registered at the District Office , Room 4, from 1 pm - 4 pm ONLY.
- From September 7, 2010 on, new incoming K-5 students will be registered at their respective elementary school site. Again, if you do not know which is your school site, please call 626-441-5810 X1120, and give your address to determine which elementary school is your school site.
Additionally, every parent is expected to attend "Round Up" which will take place August 17, 18 & 19, 2010. This year, the district will not be requiring proof of residency at
registration for currently enrolled students. You will be expected to
verify your current address, phone numbers and email address as printed
out from the school's database, and turn in a completed District
Acknowledgement Form. You only need to bring in three current proofs of
residence if you have recently moved to a South Pasadena address which
is different from the address of record in the school's database. South Pasadena schools begin on Monday August 30, 2010.
You may not register for school until you reside in South Pasadena and have your appropriate three proofs of residence, and registration must be done by the parent or legal guardian of the child.
Incoming Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by December 2, 2010. This is per California Education Code (48000a), and no exceptions will be made.
Please remember that all incoming students who have moved here from out of state or out of the country will need to provide proof of a Mantoux TB test and negative reading, performed in the US, and valid within the past year. If you need help in obtaining this shot, you may contact the Monrovia Health Services clinic at 626-256-1600. They provide a free Mantoux TB test and other immunizations for children.
If you are the legal guardian of a student, or are residing in a "Dual Family Residency" (two families sharing a residence), you will need to contact the Office of Personnel at 626-441-5810 X1130 for an appointment prior to registering your child(ren). For more information, please look under "District Enrollment Policies" under "Guardianship Information" and "Dual Residency Requirements".

Deed of Trust
Mortgage Payment Receipt – dated within the past month
Rental/Lease Agreement, listing all names of occupants (including children), and the name, address, telephone number and signature of landlord/management company.
Property Tax Bill – dated within the past year
Closing Escrow Papers
Category B
Utility Bill (Example: Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Water Bill) – dated within the past month
Time Warner Cable Bill – dated within the past month
Telephone/Cell Phone Bill – dated within the past month

Current Car Registration – dated within the past year
Car Insurance Statement – dated within the past 6 months to 1 year
Health Insurance Statement – dated within the past month
Bank Statement (or signed letter on bank letterhead with the South Pasadena address) – dated within the past month
