SPMS Students Honored at LA County Science Fair

Some to Show their Work at State Science Fair

 

Seven South Pasadena Middle School students were honored at this year’s Los Angeles County Science Fair.

The fair, the oldest and largest event of its kind in the western U.S., will bring together some 900 student participants from private and public schools throughout the county during its March 27-29 run at the Pasadena Convention Center.

SPMS honorees included:
•Adam Hamden – Honorable mention and a special award from Amonix – Renewable energy award, first place.

Kate Ba – Honorable mention and will represent SPMS at the California State Fair.

Bethany Chen – Honorable Mention and will represent SPMS at the California State Science Fair.

Will Hoadley-Brill & Henry Tull – Second place and will represent SPMS at the California State Science Fair.

Phoebe Kim – Second place and will represent SPMS at the California State Science Fair.

Dawson Galuzzi – First place and will represent SPMS at the California State Science Fair. He also received a special award from the Southern California Paleontological Society that includes possible publication of his results.

The sweepstakes winners and other top finishers will advance to the California State Science Fair held April 28-29 at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
